MAIN MENU
The Main Menu for Module II is comprised of seven lessons that must be completed in sequence.
LESSON MENU
Each lesson menu contains the same six sections: INTRODUCTION, RULES TO FOLLOW, PRACTICE TO MASTERY (A), LESSON REINFORCER, PRACTICE TO MASTERY (B), and GRAMMAR REVIEW.
INTRODUCTION AND RULES TO FOLLOW
The INTRODUCTION section provides an overview of the subject matter and introduces the new terms of the lesson,
and the RULES TO FOLLOW section presents a series of rules and examples that apply to the lesson.

PRACTICE TO MASTERY (A)
The PTM (A) is the first exercise in the lesson. It is a graded exercise. For each randomly selected sentence that appears,
the user must select the correct word choice and rule number that applies. The user’s grade is the
percent of sentences with two correct responses.
Upon completion of the exercise, a lesson grade and a summary of the rules
correctly and incorrectly identified appear. Depending upon the grade, a user may progress to the next lesson or review the
rules missed and attempt a retest. Retests to improve lesson grades are permissible until the start of the Module II Mastery Test.
LESSON REINFORCER
The LESSON REINFORCER is the second exercise in the lesson. This is a repetitious drill designed to ensure understanding of
new lesson concepts. To progress to the next exercise, a user must provide a
consecutive number of correct responses or continue to provide responses until a maximum number of responses are made.
PRACTICE TO MASTERY (B)
The PTM (B) is the second graded exercise in the lesson. For each randomly selected
sentence that appears, the user must indicate if the sentence is correct or the type of usage error it may contain.
Sentences with a usage error from the current lesson or from a previous lesson are included. The percent of correct
responses determines the grade.
GRAMMAR REVIEW
The GRAMMAR REVIEW is the final exercise in each lesson of Module II. For each randomly selected coded sentence that appears,
the user must indicate if the word function, clause identification, and sentence type codes are correct
or if the sentence contains incorrect codes. This exercise ensures retention of the concepts presented in Module I and prepares the
user for the EGUMPP Certification Test.

MODULE MASTERY TEST - PART A
Each module concludes with a MODULE MASTERY TEST. This final test is comprised of two parts. Part A is a test of the user’s ability
to apply rules from all seven lessons.
MODULE MASTERY TEST - PART B
Part B is a test of the user’s ability to identify the various types of usage
errors that a sentence may contain.
